Little Lizard Muse

It astounds me how new species are being found all the time (and it saddens me to hear how short their potential lifespan is, what with the decreased rainforests and other environmental issues).

National Geographic had this cute little guy on its website the other day — a scaly-eyed gecko (Lepidoblepharis buchwaldi) . Isn’t he just the cutest thing? I think if I had him as a pet, I might have to go back to writing in longhand. He could be my little lizard muse, my writing buddy, my inspiration, my pal.

Follow the link to the National Geographic site and you can find more cool and unusual species, including a transparent frog. And who doesn’t want to see that?
